Finish Adrian's Tentacle Cleanup
The official community wiki records the Basic Axe as the completion reward for Adrian's Tentacle Cleanup task. Two older developer replies also identify the axe as a task reward.
Scope: Wiki Tasks and Items entries retrieved through search on September 15, 2026; their game version and revision date are unspecified. The route is source-documented, not independently playtested here. Progression spoilers follow.
Follow the task chain
- Speak to Adrian in his Town South apartment and start Tentacle Cleanup. The wiki lists the Mall F1 Hallway Key as the starting item.
- Use the food-court door to reach the Mall back hallways.
- Find the Office Worker and follow Fishing in the Mall..?.
- Complete that task to summon the Mall Administrator, then defeat it.
- Return to Adrian to finish Tentacle Cleanup and collect the Basic Axe.
If the axe has not appeared
Check whether you returned to Adrian after the tentacles cleared. Winning the encounter and completing the final conversation are separate steps in the wiki task record.

Continue with the right next step
Once you have the axe, check how farming tools work from your inventory. For a different locked door, consult Basic Skeleton Key sources rather than assuming Adrian’s hallway key fits it.
