Fish at the Lakefront with leech bait
The community Wiki’s Fishing table lists Fog Eel at the Lakefront with Leech bait. Its Items table lists the Old Fishing Rod or Sturdy Fishing Rod for this catch. The Art Gallery entry independently repeats the location and bait within the same community Wiki; these are not three independent playtests.
- Go to the Lakefront.
- Check the bait on your fishing rod and select a Leech.
- Fish with a documented rod and check the catch name.
- Keep the required fish until you have checked your active task; a successful catch does not itself complete a hand-in.
The retrieved Fishing row leaves season and time blank. That does not prove all times or weather conditions are valid. No guaranteed number of casts is documented.

The release has a newer bug-status answer
The developer says the Fog Eel bug is fixed and reports seeing successful catches on streams after launch. A separate player in that discussion also reports a catch.

Why older advice says it is impossible
In the September 6 Demo thread, Chris Cote confirmed a Fog Eel bug and said Herb's and Dave's tasks were awaiting a fix. That historical answer does not establish that the released game's fish remains impossible to catch.
If you keep catching other fish
The post-launch answer responds to a player using leeches. Fog Eel is described as relatively uncommon without a probability or guaranteed cast count.
Before another long session:
- Confirm whether you are running the full game or Demo.
- Finish pending updates.
- Record bait, location, displayed build and results.
- If the issue persists, include those details in a report.
Catching and completing are separate
The newer answer confirms catches, not every quest hand-in. Check the exact objective after obtaining the fish. The fish's name alone is not evidence of a fog-weather requirement.
